Our Lady of Perpetual Help Catholic Church is a house of spiritual revolution—where faith is ignited, lives are transformed, and disciples are sent on mission. Rooted in the Eucharist and guided by the Holy Spirit, we move from maintenance to mission, keeping Christ and His saving work the center of all we do. With hearts on fire, we proclaim the Gospel, form saints, and renew the world in His love.

At Our Lady of Perpetual Help Catholic School, athletics are about so much more than winning games. They’re about building confidence, character, leadership, teamwork, and faith while creating lifelong friendships.

Welcome Deacon Chip and Virginia Hammond
A Southern Baptist with a call to ministry and a cradle Catholic from East Memphis walked into Samford University... and the rest, as they say, is history! Deacon Chip and Virginia Hammond are thrilled to be joining the parish family of Our Lady of Perpetual Help!
Chip had long hungered for the unity of all Christians and a deeper communion with Christ. Meeting Virginia — and falling in love with her love for Jesus and His Church — was the spark that lit his journey home to the Catholic Church. It led him into full communion at the 1997 Easter Vigil, convinced that she is the One, True Church that Christ founded, and captivated by her belief in the Real Presence of Christ in the Eucharist — the ultimate means of union with Him.
They are blessed with 6 wonderful children ranging from young adults in their 20s down to a soon-to-be 4th grader, and have called the Memphis Metro area home for 26 years.
Chip holds a Master's Degree in Theology and Christian Ministry with a specialization in Catechetics from Franciscan University of Steubenville, where Virginia also earned her undergraduate degree in Theology. Chip is passionate about adult faith formation, the Eucharist, and walking alongside men through healing ministry as they encounter Christ's healing love. Together, Chip and Virginia look forward to accompanying married couples as they discover the fullness and joy of their vocation through that same healing love of Christ.
They are so grateful to become part of this incredible parish family and look forward to joining the spiritual revolution happening here at Our Lady of Perpetual Help — serving Christ and His Church alongside all of you! Please join us in welcoming them!
